Wtf is NetBIOS browsing? The past two days I have been getting tons of these kinds of attacks on my IP. In the past 3 min I have had like 15 attacks. What the hell is this?!

Just a simple scan of open shares through NetBios. Netbios is kind of the earlier DNS. It was an archaic way of tying IP's and Network Nodes to common names.
But...you'd be surprised to find out how many people share drives flapping out in the wind with no knowledge of it whatsoever.

My friend told me how to uncheck it so I did. I had client for microsoft networks on so I could LAN. I guess I was sharing my C: drive in the open eh? Its unchecked now and the attacks seemed to have stopped for now.

I just looked at my norton personal firewall software, I don't think they are attacks, I think that they are just being blocked. The software isn't allowing the ip's to connect. I have like 91 blocked in my report, for the last hour or so.

Slik I posted this in another thread.
Go to the address below and test your system. Click on shields up and then click test my shields or probe ports. This will give you some idea of your security. Do both tests .

firewalls sometimes mistake certain signals as attacks, but i'm dumb, so dont listen to me, carry on
