I downloaded the 40.71 drivers. Hope this fixes my problem with UT crashing. Couple of new things like refresh lock, submenu pops out automatically. I ran a bench mark, and compaired to the 40.41 drivers, I actually lost a few points, but these are supposed to be more stable for Ge4 4600ti cards?

Slice if you wouldn't mind, could you give us an update on how things are going? Which drivers did you end up with and how are they working for you? Which Brand GF4 4600 you have and which OS you are using?

I've had the 40.71s installed since the day they came out and they run fine for me. I have a GeForce3 Ti200.

The drivers are working fine. They make UT2k3 look brighter and crisper and seem to be very stable. It turns out that the drivers had nothing to do with my problem, of the games crashing. I will start another thread to discuss that.

I'm confused. The drivers from the NVidia site are 30.82 - are you using beta drivers or something? I have a GF4 Ti-4400 and Win2K.

Go to nvidia's site and choose "download drivers" not the windows 2000/xp option. Choose graphics driver in step one the in step 2 choose Detenator 40.

The reason I asked is I'm running the 40.52s with Win98se and was thinking about upgrading again, but I didn't want to change anything with the LAN party coming up.

I'm not tweaking anything this close to the LAN party.

It might have been pure coincidence, but I really lagged out with the new drivers. I couldn't knife anyone, and every time I'd get hit and got blood spray in front of me the frame rate really dropped. Maybe it was just a bad night for my DSL. I went back to the 30.82 drivers and everything is fine now.

Also, I updated my Win2K to SP3. Apparently SP3 fixes the 60Hz refresh rate problem, cause I don't need to run RefreshLock anymore. I heard the new beta nVidia drivers fix it too. Maybe there is a conflict?

Well I see that there is a 40.72 now, so I installed that one today. Not really any difference between the 40.71 and 40.72 so I think they probably fixed some bug or something with the 40.71s. How can you tell what your refresh rate is, when you are in a game? My refresh is set to 100hz.

I can see it when it switched back to 60Hz. It hurts my eyes after while. Maybe if you don't play in full screen then you can check it while the game is running. Not sure though. I started using power strip to lock mine in at 100Hz.
