Ive been sitting in my chair misty eyed over the events happening on tv
the celebration they have footage of has made my day
now that they arent fearful of saddam they are embracing our presense
tearing down statues and parading through the streets carrying american
and ooooold iraqi flags high, the reporters are so freaked out because iraqi people have been walking up and hugging them, thanking them...........even kissing pictures of president bush

it is a great day indeed

im so glad the war is nearly at an end

Well, I think there is a lot more fighting to go still, but it goes to show you how RIGHT we were in doing what we have done.

Yeah man...it is going to be a loooong time yet before people say, "Hey! Let's go to Iraq for holiday!"

Did you see the clips of the Iraqis killing each other? And the little groups of citizens that support Saddam taking shots at Americans? Or all the looting that is still going on?

We were right to do what we did, but, expect it to get a little crazy over there before it settles down. I imagine the US is going to have a major presence in that country for a good long time. Even after the government is in place and things seem to calm down. And even that could cause some static with Libya, Oman...they really don't want us at their back door.

The problem is that these people have hated each other
for hundreds of years, and nothing will change that.
They need a big brother to keep them straight.
Like when Russia pulled out of so many countries there
was chaos and the ancient rivalries flared to where
former peaceful people were doing genocide on each other.
In Iraq the majority was repressed by the minority. They
will not forget. I don't want us to get in a role
where we have to be big brother to these countries.
