Fallout 2, followed closely by Fallout 1.

Wonderful games. Stunning.

I was hooked on Morrowind for months before Ut2003 came out. Many characters, worlds, role playing.................cool game.

Icewind Dale II was cool, and I actually just started Baldur's Gate I this week....it's OK so far...

I've heard alot of good things about Morrowind...

Isn't Neverwinter Nights a RPG too?

Slash. just play them all!

Do you want an online game, or single player? If you want to go online, then I bet Mitchyl has a suggestion. :oooo:

Slash

I think I would like an online one.

Dark Age of Camelot looks pretty cool. Everquest, which some people call EverCrack because it is so addictive, is another.

Once you get sucked into RPGs, you never get out... :P

Most of you probably don't remember Wizardry: The Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord, but I played the hell out of that game and the following sequels when I was a kid. They were pretty damn fun for games that had very rudimentary graphics. It was on the Apple II.

That's right, I forgot that....

I think I'm gonna give Dark Age of Camelot a try here soon. Having the Whitehawks here definitely is a plus because they seem willing to help anyone out who is just geetting started...

(Plus there is an Outlaw playing so there is always that family connection...)

Burns view ( and therefor the right view, heheh j/k on all the RPG's online and off!)

Baldurs Gate : awesome, sweet plot.

Baldurs Gate 2 : awesome, sweet plot, only play it if you BEAT BG 1, as its pretty hard.

Fallout 1 : awesome, the Baldurs Gate series being the sweetest of all Fantasy RPGs, Fallout is king of Futuristic RPG's. Kickass.

Fallout 2 : even better than Fallout 1! Again, awesome story.

Fallout Tactics : still an RPG at heart, still good, but the story just decends into B-Movie fare at the end, not as good as 1 or 2, but still much better than most games.

Morrowind : People say its good, well er...it looks good, you walk around like your in Mud, the story is actually pretty predictable, the freedom is cool at first, until you realise you have the freedom to do the same things over and over and over and over and over in different areas.

Dark Age Of Camelot : people will disagree, but this is quite possibly the worst game ever made! And yes, I do play Online RPG's. Its, kill a frog, kill another frog, oh ****! 2 frogs! (dies).....sometime later...level up! WOOT! So then we go kill a wolf, kill another wolf, uh-oh, 2 wolves! run!

Everquest : its a little too late to jump on the EQ bandwagon now, as there are so many masters of this already complex game.

Anarchy Online : fun for a while, VERY complex, also rewarding, nice little quest system, but depends on your viewpoint.

Asherons Call : My favorite. Overlooked, underplayed, (but has around 125,000 subscribers). Like Diablo, but 3D. No seriously.

Asherons Call 2 : Ugh, if you wanna play it, wait till September when the situation will have improved, not enough content yet.

Eve Online : I was told the beta was a disaster, dunno yet.

SWG : The big one, I dont like star wars, so I wont be playing it, but to be fair it looks great for people who like it. Out around September time, needs some more balancing first.

Shadowbane : No,no,no and NO! Just released, looks date, move with the Mouse, easy to hit the level cap, dissapointing.

Horizons : looking good, aparently theres 625,000,000 to craft a Sword. All about the players vs. the undead.

World Of Warcraft : Not out till January 2004, looks awesome, this is my next MMORPG.

Planetside : if you dont know what it is, look it up, OMFG its out the 23rd of MAY, MAAAY! COME ON PEOPLE DANCE FOR ME!

Warcraft 3 is NOT an RPG, but it is still worth your money!

Try Morrowind (I STRONGLY ADVISE). I also REALLY liked Might and Magic VI: Mandate of Heaven. Great RPG. Kinda hard at first, but it's great. (I'm not good at this game)

What about Diablo 2?

There are just so many RPGs out there!

I recently "got my hands on" Neverwinter Nights, it looks really cool! (im

gonna check out some of the reviews it got!)

I'd just like to mention again I'm not a big RPG fan, most of my unfanness

spans from me taking too long to get into an RPG! I could care less about

the story i'm more into Gameply (hack and slash, spellz, and all the other

good stuff. I like leveling-up and stuff its fun and its like there is actualy a

point to al the killing!)

I also think that playing online is a big plus since many people are willing to

help you throughout your quest! So for confused noobs like me thas a BIG

plus!

U should focus your attention on upcoming RPGs cuz so many people

already mastered the other ones! I'D ALSO LIKE TO MENTION THE PLAYING

RPG'S IS A LIFE TIME COMMITMENT. SO SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR KIDS AND

FAMILY AND LOCK THE DOOR.

Diablo 2 is a good choice. It is pretty old now so the graphics aren't great, but there are still thousands that still play today. You can probably pick up a combo pack with the expansion for cheap. It is extremely addicting and a ton of fun to play. It sucked many hours out of my life. There is an upcoming patch that is supposed to add a ton of stuff to the game and may make me even reinstall it.
