I got a letter in the mail and it said that comcast was going to be adding new lines in my area.. It read "in the next few months you're going to see some changes."

This means I will be able to get cable internet. But wait. Are they lying, because I heards rumors about DSL lines being installed a year ago and still nothing.

So my question goes out to people who have recieved this letter whether or not it actually came true in you're area. An how long it took..

yeah, it's probably true, because they want that cash,
and broadband and digital cable is the way to go for them.
They may or may not have to dig to install,
when they went through our neighborhood,
they had lined up a solid line of people that dug down
about 5' along the curb to install the new cable.
You may want to check their website, they may have
a schedule showing what markets are going to
be turned on when...

comcast.......... no.
But I did from AT&T,
and also a local utility company that offers cable.
They both had service up within 4 months.
For the record I had DSL, so I did not switch to either...

I never got a letter because Comcast was here before I was.

I hate my pos area where I live. That was the first place that I checked when I called about cable/dsl connections and they said that they don't offer service in my area. I'm gonna have to go through my phone service now :bandhead:

Road Runner was supposed to be available in our area at the end of the second quarter of this year. Its here now, a full quarter ahead of schedule.

Of course we have a 1 year contract with SBC Yahoo DSL, so we're gonna have to wait to upgrade to cable internet anyway. :bandhead:

It turned out it was a wiring problem with my condo. Once they came out and fixed it, it has been perfect since :D
