What do you think of my new videocard that I ordered today for the first time on NewEgg? Pretty sweet eh? Its a new ASUS GeForce FX 5800 Ultra and it comes with 4 games too!

I had to choose between a GeForce FX 5800 Ultra or a Radeon 9800 video card. It was a tough decision but I decided with this cause Ive been wanting one for along time and I like Nvidia's drivers better.

I am waiting for the 9800 with 256mb of ddr-2 (9900??)

That will be an awesome card, I'm sure Asus will be in the 'nicer' group of FX cards. That looks like a considerable amount of shiny copper there shedding heat. I think I'd need a new PS to get that, or the 9700/9800 variety. JIM, I thought I saw that the 256-meg DDR-2 9800s were due out in the fall...is that correct? About the time DOOM3 is spinning up would be cool. BIO, I'm sure you won't need an incentive to fire up some benchmarks and screens, I'd be bustin' waiting on a toy like that to arrive, but do fire up some benchmarks and screens for us!

yeah, I'm not sure when they are going to come out.
I have see the product cycle charts, but at the same time they say that they
are going to double the release cycle from 7 to 14 months
the 9800 is really only a small step up from the 9700
but if they get a 256mb ddr-2 version out quickly,
that will be nails in the coffin. at todays prices though,
i imagine it will cost half a grand....

Thanks guys! Oh yah I will definitially post some benchmarks and stuff. The card was about $500 I made sure I got overnight shipping so right there boosted the cost $30 dollars. I never order anything snail mail or seconed day cause I can't wait and I've had some bad things happen to stuff in the mail. Since I ordered it yesterday I won't get it untill monday cause of the fact that Newegg does not ship Saturday mail which means that my card will not be here till later then I want it. :bawling:
