I love what nVidia has given to gamer's, and I really hope this stabilizes the ground under their feet.

NV 35 (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=9174)

Also, they have capitulated on their earlier accusations (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=9173), which I think is their way of wiping clean the slate, and getting the FX experiment right. I don't know how it will fare against the 9700 and 9800 Pros, but the stats look good, and the 256-bit bus should be a huge boon to performance.

"The launch date is Los Angeles E3 between 12th and 15th of May and production time is sometime in June but this could easily mean late than early June, although more than a few Nvidia partners are quite optimistic about June."

Does this mean that we may see a product in July or August?

It should be interesting, although it will probably nuke the sales of current FX cards.
It's good that they finally are getting on the program with the 256 bit memory bus,
anyway, should be interesting. competition is good...

I would say if your current card is adequate, then to wait.
Based on what I saw, the new card is only going to have a somewhat
tweaked core (maybe they will do 24 bit internal computations,
which is why ati graphics are better in default mode, and nvidia is much
slower doing the 32 bit...) the main thing for the card is that
it will offer 256 mb of ddr (not ddr2) and should be cheaper
for them to produce than the current fx, also without the
hoover attachment...

anyway the next gen chips are supposed to have twice the
rendering power of the current generation. i don't know if
those are to be out this year or not....
