Alias DB Update Part 1

I have partially updated the alias detective with over 100MB of log files. I have another update with over 100MB left to do in the next couple of days.

This update added 1,148 aliases to the database.

Thanks Sal but I see I flaw with alias det.. What if different people use the same PC? How would you explain to that why he or she did something wrong when in fact it was someone else just using the same PC. Why I ask because I looked under my name and it has about 12 different names and I have had only 2. Just wondering?

The alias detective searches for the name that you type in, and if it finds it, it looks at the IP and then depending on what you had it set on (broad range or exact or the other one) it will do an IP look up and display those people with in that range.

You have 2 puters, and say if you use a router, yea each puter has a different IP, but then again your cable modem still only has one, there for they are sorta the same. You internet provider only sees one IP, same for as on the servers. That could be why if someone on the other puter is using a bunch of aliases, it will show up when you search for your name.

Then again, maybe someone on your provider is playing sam too. When your IP changes, it could be possible for them to get it and it would show up under a different name. It is a very long shot, but it could happen. ;)
