Okay you guys, UT3 is the best thing since sliced bread. So go play it and have fun. But please stop coming back here and trashing SS. Many of us still love the game and enjoy playing it. Don't forget your roots people. Have a little respect for the rest of us, would ya? :(

Um, everywhere! People are constantly comparing UT3 to SS and going on about how much better UT3 is. It's a matter of opinion. I like SS even with all of its faults. I am here because I am with a group of people that feel the same way. If that changes, then I'll probably not hang around here much anymore.

Don't anyone get me wrong. I've played the UT3 demo online. I like it and I'll no doubt be buying the game. But there is no need to trash one game in favor of the other. The whole point of GM is to bring people together that enjoy online gaming. No matter what game it is.

Am I wrong?

While it's not all 'bashing' as such, i can certainly see your point. I think it'll get a lot better - i mean by definition we've all really gone from a SS2 specific forum on Seriously to an All Game forum here on Gamemecca. Once we've been here a while longer the direct SS2 comparison will prob cool a little, and the inevitable trashing will be shared among more than the 1 game.

Or if not, the comparison will hopefully run a little closer for Sam post netpatch. <chuckle>

Actually, I probably won't buy Unreal anytime soon.

Its ok but not for $70.
to me Sam was worth $70 not $20.

Id take Sam over any FPS for the PC .. it just absolutely rules . .I do not play any game for the PC as much as I do with Sam . I have played the UT2003 demo and it doesnt even appeal to me in any way as Sam does ..

I still like Sam. I just enjoy a change of pace every once in a while. You have to admit not having F9's is pretty sweet. :wink:

Plus there is something very appealing about being able to have 20 people in there, weapon stay turned on, and not have any lag. :wink: :D

I have purchase utk3 and now that i'm working 5 days a week and have a complete change in my living hours,i realize i have no time for playing one or the other.I goten utk3 since 3 days and i had time for 30 minutes of play.That is to bad.But boths games have their qualities.I like ss cause i 'm not a newbie in it and i can pretty much win when i want to wich is not the case whit utk3.But still enjoying the time spent on it is fun.

I bought UT2K3 and it does have great graphics. I still prefer SS2, with all it's flaws, it is much more fun for me.

Well, I just fired up the UT2003 demo after not playing for about a week and I found a server that cranked up the game speed quite a bit.

Well I must say that was much better...
The default speed is waaaay to slow...when you crank it up and start flying around the map....it starts to remind me of Sam and is way better.

heh heh...maybe I will buy the game sonner.

My first love is SS SE and i'll continue to play it primarily even with it's quirks that hopefully will be fixed someday. I still love to play SS FE, Prob'ly more than SS SE.

I'm just playing UT 2003 for a change of pace and I don't want to miss something that might also be fun.

I am afraid so. Even though im no fan of unreal (Quake!) people are just saying the netcode is SOOO much better (which it is). Shit Doom Online has better netcode than Sam, come on. Sam just has problems on problems (talking about deathmatch here mainly) or is just missing such mandatory things like Team DM when it comes to most FPS games, etc. Its not bashing, just the comparison of those things strays in UT2k3's favor.
