Doom 3 for XBox

id Software and Activision, Inc. confirmed today that id Software’s DOOM 3, the most anticipated game of the year, is headed to the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft.

Built on id’s revolutionary new 3D graphics engine, DOOM 3 draws players into the most terrifying and riveting 3D gaming experience ever created. id Software and Activision will feature a new trailer of the PC version at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, beginning Wednesday, May 14, in Activision’s booth #1224 in the South Hall.


First released in 1993, DOOM is widely recognized as the catalyst for the first-person action genre. Since its inception, the franchise has been one of the industry’s best-selling PC series. A release date for DOOM 3 for Xbox is not available.

Wont ever beat the modern day PC, since u cant upgrade it but its still a good console!! :thumbs:

I wish the Xbox had more RPGs. It seems like everything is racing, sports, or an FPS. Hopefully Fable will be good when it comes out.

i think so, but hey games on that run a hell of alot smother than they do un my PC (i have GeForce 4 MX-440)

Well it doesnt say exactly what tupe of GPU but its a 233Mhz chip custom made by nVidia and MicroSoft&#33;&#33;

hmm on some pages i read 233 mhz on others 300 mhz..... well fact is that its a custom-designed X-Chip, developed by Microsoft and nVidia :hmmm:

Here is the deal...XBox blows...Microsuck was trying to get as close to the PC as they could, and didn&#39;t make it. You wan&#39;t Doom 3, get a PC. You want games, get a PS2. Microsoft is losing a million dollars a day on that system. I am not bashing them, they have a really good system, but they don&#39;t have the 3rd party that PS2 has. That is the only reason that I don&#39;t have one. I have a Dreamcast, a PS2 and a GameCube...but XBox...if I want the game, I will go PC

I think the XBox was built on a special GF3 chipset, which makes me wonder how they can pull it off, if it will choke my GF4 card like benchmarks say it will.
