Could someone tell me the difference between CD burning software, i personally use RecordNow, and i dont see how CD burning software can be better or worse than other CD burning software.

Could anyone explain?

Um, there is two classes of software.
You have cd copying software, where you can copy one cd to another on your system, which is what you have,
and then you have the serious burning software, which can create image files on your drive,
that when burned by another person will generate an exact copy of the disk with protections intact.
Examples are clone cd, nero, alcohol 120, fire burner, etc.
Or at least so I hear, I wouldn't know about such things....

Thanx Jim and those other "serious ones" are illegal right?

One last thing Jim, would you have to buy that kind of burning software or could you download it for free? (not via Kazaa but legally)

Umm, I think that some of them give you a free trial.
google for elby clone cd for example, i think it has 15 days free.
Nero also comes with a lot of cdrws,
clone cd = ccds, nero = nrg, bin/cue, iso

Huh, don't forget about composing your own CD from all those free MP3 files, like Nero can do.

But I wouldn't know any thing about this because I paid for my copy of CloneCD at Elaborate Bytes (http://www.elby.ch/en/products/clone_cd/index.html). :oooo:

I use Nero, legitimately purchased with my $10 48X burner, it does a pretty good job. I think CloneCD and some others are better at burning an image of copyrighted stuff.

I stick to Nero and CloneCD. That is, when my CDRW isn't acting up. Don't ever buy an IOMagic drive! It wasn't worth the trouble for the $30 price tag after mail-in rebate.

I think Nero is the most versatile of the burning programs... it can burn just about every kind of image as well as mp3s and such... I also enjoy Nero because it makes burning DVDs very easy as well (basically the exact same way as cds just slightly different choices and options) I certainly recommend Nero. Mine copy came with my cdburner as well

Call me old fashioned, but I like the command line better. I'd rather just use mkhybrid and cdrecord.
