i know what you mean, i reformatted and now my UT won't start. period. (check my other thread)

I got a virus that deleted my norton, deleted my download folder, and deleted my system restore. it also disabled the value that let me install norton again :bandhead:

Did you install all updates & Service packs?

I use ATI in all my rigs and love um. Check the properties make sure it did in fact update your driver. XP is tough to update. Mabe its a network problem? If you want start a game and ill try to join. I will need your IP and dont forget to put it out on the DMZ and open port 27960

I'v updated my Bios, Mobo drivers, tried 3 different ATI drivers, nothing makes it work.

What router are you using?

Legohunter and I had this problem but I dont remember how we fixed it :bandhead:

You are running the latest directX drivers? You say you can play single player with no problems?

I have traced it to Punkbuster problem. If I create a game without punkbuster enabled it playes fine. But when I enable punkbuster it locks up.

punkbuster has had some problems... go to the website for updates. You need it since its enabled on frag's server

Ok try this

1 copy your q3config to your desktop. (found in baseq3 folder)
2 delete the pb folder in the C:Programs Files/Quake III Arena folder
3 re-install the 1.32 point release w/punkbuster
4 it you dont have it all ready download PBWeb and put it in your pb folder and run it from there. it should update you to the latest release.
5 copy you q3config file back to your baseq3 folder over wrighting the one that there.

hopefully that will do it :thumbs:

Just a though, it has happened to other, about having a multiple cd key file. I know Shogun knows about it. Something if you have 2 of them (I don't know how it happens) but that could maybe cause something like that. Just a thought.
