i just fell in love with this car. it's a 1993 Nissan 240 SX, great condition, inside and out, clean... only prob is the 153,200 miles on it. anyone know anything about the history on these cars or anything like that? i'm going to the dealership tomorrow to hav ea mechanic look at it before i buy it from this guy, but does anyone here know anything about the 240's and if it would be ok with the 153,200 miles on it... i'm open to comments and suggestions. thx.

240s are nice. but the 300 zx is better
there a pretty fast car for a 2.4L . check for rust, especially underneath.
you should drop the tranny pan and check if theres alot of stuff on the magnet, if there is it will probably need some work. or just take it for a test drive and see how it shifts. check for holes in the exhaust. it will probably be fairly new becuase people like to rice those thing out with kicky fasst aftermarket exhausts.
so pretty much just take it for a test drive and listen if theres any wierd noises. if there is i might be able to help :drink:

@ snake: nothin sounds bad. sounds good, feels good, runs great. took it for a good 10 minute test drive, seemed great..

dunno, that is a lot of miles for a 4 cyl.
I think at that age and mileage most parts of the suspension will have worn out,
some may be replaced, some not.
Given a choice, I would want about 90k to be the limit for miles.

have you seen the big car auction thingy close to newnan?
open to public on fridays. some people have gotten good deals there.

btw, if you are purchasing from an individual, there is no sales tax, so enjoy that savings...

The 240's are THE Nissan's. Wow. What a classic. Be prepared to spend some money on it. But if you're willing, and the body is in good shape, then rock on dude! :wootrock:

thx jim and sirc. it's only $2995 plus taxes, and it needs nothing as is. i'll probably put some $$ into it though. i'd rather buy a cheap car and customize it myself, opposed to buying an expesive car already. :wootrock:

cool Strider, very nice car :jammin:
I had for one year a sweet 300ZX TT with chip tuning  and went to different Z-meetings here in Germany. Cool car but it was an 91er, so a lot to repair and always trouble with the turbos.

Now I love my SLK320. :)

But the 240ers are wonderful cars

I kind of like that Viper in your avatar a little better. :P Get a Nissan Maxima instead. My mom has one and I used to have one too. They have major balls, look sweet, comfortable and are overall great cars.

Yes, that is a good method.

Many young Japanese men remodel their car.

This car was sold with "180SX" in Japan. It is the car which is popular with the young men in Japan.

" customize! "

I had an 86 Nissan 240SX. My sister bought it brand new, then she sold it to me when she had a child. I sold it about 2 years ago. It had over 200,000 miles on it, and was still running. It was an extremely reliable car!

Oh yeah, be sure to go to kbb.com to find the blue book value on the car.
I would not pay more than what they suggest, especially in todays slow car market...

200,000 miles 320,000 km ... That is terrificI:w00t:

A car to run through many distances like that isn't seen in Japan very much.

ibecause a Japanese country is small? j

My and my friends are changed to the new car by almost about 63,000 miles, too.

But, the engine of the Nissan is a great.

my dad is a loan manager and he has one of those books that he uses all the time for his job, so we checked there. it was listed at like $4199 or somewhere around there, so we got a good deal
