i keep on getting these stoopid pop ups... just randomly, i can be playing ss2 and BOOM i get a pop up and i have to minamize ss2 close the pop up and ree open the game (by this time im dead) ive tryed running ad aware.. didnt realy help still, getting them.. anyone have anyideas? :unsure:

Look and see if a program called Gator is running on your PC. If so, delete it.

Also, go to Start -> Run and type "msconfig". Click on the Startup tab and show us a pic of everything that is listed in there.

Start > Control Panel > Add/remove Programs.

See if its listed there.

Once you have done what Sal suggested, download Adaware or Spybot, and see if you have anything else that is messing with your system.

What kind of pop-up? Is it Microsoft Messenger Service. If Adaware doesn&#39;t stop it probably is the messenger service included with XP.

Also if you are getting these messages it means you computer is open to others. You should also turn on the Internet Connection Firewall that comes with XP.

Well he said he ran Adaware already. When was the last time you updated it? Check for new updates before you run it next. :thumbs:

i use spybot search and destroy, it works helluva good. heres a link
http://security.kolla.de/ you would be suprised how much spyware/ adware you have
