Lastnight I was looking for some demos on Strafe Jumping and found some, But then I realized I didn't know how to watch them. I ran across some utilities that will let you run the demos from anywhere on you hard drive just by double clicking on the .dm3 file. Too friggin easy, But the ones (Demoplay v2.4 & DSC DemoViewer) I found and tried didn't work with the point release v1.32 of Quake

I just found one that will not only work with all versions of Quake (I,II,III) but also a bunch of other games. It's called Seismovision and here's some NFO about it:

Seismovision is a versatile demo player which can play Quake 1, Quake World, Quake 2, Quake 3 Arena, Half-Life, Counter-Strike Retail, Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2003, Star Trek Voyager Elite Force, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Star Wars: Jedi Knight 2 and Soldier of Fortune 2 by simply double-clicking onto a demo in Windows Explorer or even play them directly from your Desktop or compressed archive or network. You only need to have the game installed and Seismovision configured to play the demo. Seismovision supports 14 games, 23 Demo types and 18 Demo Extensions. The AVA (Auto-Version Adaptation) ’technology’ makes Seismovision the best demo player as it can adapt to the game version (if supported) and play the older type demo. The Update System lets you keep you easily up-to-date. The Seismovision Wizard will guide you easily through the configuration process of setting your games for optimal demo play. This ‘Demodiversity’ makes it a must for every professional and amateur gamer.

It's real easy to setup, All you have to do is run it and it will auto. find the path to the .exe files for the games you select that you want to use it for.

Here's the website LINK (http://www.planetquake3.net/seismovision/) They have a v2.21 out, I downloaded mine from here LINK (http://www.quake.co.il/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=46)

Oh and did I mention it's FREE? :D

On some but not all of these Q3 demos that I have the other person was invis., What you have to do to make them show up is download this mod called CPMA v1.1 LINK (http://www.promode.org/), Unzip & Install the mod, Then open the viewer program and set the settings like this screenshot shows. I don't remember where I downloaded these demos from.

It's a trip to see how fast they get around without using the g'hook and the distance jumps they can make.

I remember the game I played against Zero4 one day. I was only about a year into Quake 3, thought I'd seen some good players, but he blew me away(literally). He just handled me. Bounced me into the air with rockets, and railed me like a clay pidgeon. I assume it was him, and not an imposter. I've since played with some low level pros, and what do ya know, they rocket and rail the same way; but now this pidgeon rails back! Notice I didn't mention anything about fragging them though..
