OUTLAWS Tip

Came home last night after a few livations. My Pc wouldn't boot up, tried a couple times and figured I would be better off waiting till morning to figure it out. Got up today and tried booting up. Nothing on the screen but heard my XP boot up sound. Tried my backup monitor and got the same results. Pulled out my VisionTek Ti 4600 and replaced it with my old geforce2 card and booted right up. Sure hope VisionTek still honors their lifetime replacement policy. Going to double-check the card again tomorrow and then call see if I can get an RMA number. I hadn't even been overclocking the card yet as it was so new and $$$$. Thank god for spare parts.
That sucks Tip. Damn, I don't even like to think about things like that. <SHUDDER!> :(

Good luck dealing with VisionTek. Now that they're out of business it may be a problem getting it RMA'd. I hope my VisionTek GF3Ti200 holds up :?

I just found the receipt. I got it at CompUSA. I am going to try and put it back in just to make sure. I bought it 3/11/02 so I don't think CompUSA is going to help me much.

I sure do. :-(
Getting full use of my A+ Certification, unfortunately. Tried calling VisionTek and got tired of waiting on hold. I sent them an email, so I will have to wait and see what happens. Seems I might be in trouble, cause I think they went out of Business. Lifetime warranty? Only time will tell.

That is scary! I have a Visiontek ti4600 also. I am definately not going to overclock it anymore. Considering you didn't even have yours overclocked and it died. Man I will be so mad if my card sh*ts out on me. I bought my card in Feb when they first came out and paid $399 for it.

Well I got tired of sitting on hold the last two days trying to get an RMA number from VisionTek. No response to my emails either. I started getting nervous about not even being able to get a replacement. Just got home from a computer store with a brand spanking new Ti 4600, stuck it in and all is well. Noticed it had a better fan on than the original also. Planning on cleaning up my non-working card, sticking it in the new box and taking it back for a refund. They have a 15% restocking fee, but paying $60 is better than me eating $400. I have been looking at getting a digital camera and hope that they will not charge the restocking fee if I purchase a nice camera. I'll find out this weekend when I take back the video card that just wouldn't work on my machine. LOL

One good thing, it might actually force me to buy a digital camera. I've been looking for a while but haven't been a very motivated buyer. If they don't charge me the re-stocking fee I'll have one this weekend.

I took my old non-working Ti 4600 back today. They said they wouldn't charge me a restocking fee if I bought a digital camera in the same price range. Well I am now the proud owner of a Kodak Dx4900 4 Megapixel Digital Camera. Not sure what I am doing yet but looks like it should be a lot of fun. Max resolution: 2448 X 1632 pixels. Says on the box, "Crisp, clear prints at any size, even up to 20" X 30" poster.
Oh well here is a pic of my PC. As you can see my optical mouse is killing my table and has worn off the top layer from playing Sam.

Nice pic Tip, I have an optical mouse too, but I still keep it on a pad. The pad is spongy......I just couldn't get use to using nothing.
I'm glad things went well for you (on your return/exchange).
