How long have you been playing Sam?

I am just curious to know how long people have been playing sam. Oh, and how much you played. And

just a little history about the players of sam.


My history- I started playing sam on my pc in february or so. I think.... I play a lot.

I started when the first encounter came out. Never played online until about Nov. or Dec. of 2002.

I think I play just the right amount. My wife disagrees! :devil:

First I started with coop in July 2002 and had a lot of fun. At that time the fragmatch was tooo fast for me. But after some months it was boring and I started with fragmatch in december 2002 :wave:

I beat the original SE in easy mode on dec 2001 (I guess) then FE in normal around June 2002.
It sucked taking rocket damage, I had to redo the way I did things.
I was dimly aware of the netplay, but never saw it until I hooked up my brother in Nov.
I think Sam was too hard for them so they started playing coop, so I did also.
It was cool being able to play with family across the country!
I started experimenting with fragmatches in Jan.
Just getting on and getting my azz whooped. The first few games
I didn't understand why I had negative scores!
It took me a while to figure out the run with the knife thingy and so on
The first few times in the hole, I figured out how to get the sniper from
the top ramp - not that it helped me any.
I was so clueless.... almost like I am now.

I started playing the SE demo the day it came out. Got the game the day it came out. Played it daily for over a year. Got burned out. Moved on to where there's more servers and competition: Q3.

So basically the people who are good at sam play coop before fragmatch and play for a really long time. I hope that I can continue playing sam and not burn out by playing too much :P

Nope. I never liked coop much. I pretty much went straight into DM.

Naw. These guys started doing the fragmatches as soon as they downloaded the demos...

go to join game, try nc ass kick infinite ammo or something like that with people in it.
you fight the monsters through the entire level
depending on the settings, it can take 9+ hours to complete the game

There are lots of different levels in playing ability. I am prolly around the middle.
There are tons of people that can kick my azz easily and reliably.

I&#39;ve played (or that&#39;s what I call it :P ) ever since FE came out. Never cared for Coop, Too slow for my taste. :cool:

Sam is the first FPS i&#39;ve ever played and I started playing at the end of December 2002. I went into fragmatch and got the crap scared out of me :bawling: and I hid in coop for a while or started my own server named beginner hoping other beginners would come in. Lots of people came in and tried to help me but It seemed like no use.

Then someone gave me advice to go into the servers with the experienced players and play, play, play because playing with other noobs wont get you anywhere. Soooo I did and died. Then died more and felt like a lost soul (no pun intended) :wacko:

Someone told me about GM and I said :lol: "yeah right (to myself)....... a gaming forum.....what am I a nerd or something?" Well I decided to join the forum of nerd gamers and here I am.......queen nerd myself&#33;&#33; :P

I started playing around the start of September 2002 when my brother showed me this new game he had called serious sam.. i was almost instantly addicted.

For the first 3-4 months i played roughly one or two days a week if lucky seeing as the computer i had at home couldn&#39;t run sam due to no graphics card so the only chance i would get to play was when i went over to my bros place to leech off his comp :)

Once i was able to play from home i was playing alot more.. roughly every nite.. though only 2-3 games a nite.. hasn&#39;t changed much either i still play 1 or 2 games a nite if i see ppl on the servers. Hard to make time though as i work during the weekdays so i don&#39;t wanna stay up all nite playing games then go to work tired :blink: though that&#39;s usually what i do neway :lol: :wacko:

Started with FE soon after it came out but only in SP&#33; Beaten the game on most difficulty besides the ones below normal (too easy :P )


Then bought SE when it was released played it on sp too then about in march 2002 i entered the world of Fragmatches :)

Well played it till about two months ago and now i hardly play it anymore

And I stopped playing Sam ever since I got 56k again. So ve played for more than a year. At least one game a day. :thumbs:

Wow. SO both you and Bones were naturals at this game.. I play a ton.. Too much and get bored of it.. But if I can control myself and only play a game or two a day I have a blast. Man, that must have been fun, every game screenshot quality.. :w00t:

I downloaded the demo of ssam SE from a belgian gaming site

at first I didn&#39;t even know how to jump or change my settings...

It took me ages to run around Little Trouble in the demo version

then I started kicking Electric Banana&#39;s @ss and got drafted into :::MoV:::

I got my hands on FE and SE full version, and I discovered coop

I like the &#39;egyptian&#39; coop of FE

In a reverse chronology I played FE DM but I&#39;m not good at Desert temple and the tommigun

I prefer the shotgun and SE DM...I&#39;ve been hanging around there for ages
