For some reason this ass personally eliminated one of the 3-4 teams that would pay his salary...Detroit:

The media here is really going off on him today. He compared leaving Detroit to leaving Russia. Last time I checked, he didn't have a multi-million dollar mansion and garage of Ferrari's in Russia. I can already see the headlines in the fall where Fedorov is crying, not understanding why the fans here booed him of the ice in his first game back.

In better news Detroit made an offer to Derian Hatcher today. 4 years at $25 million.

Didn't you say you wanted Federov to go?

Best thing he could do is leave Detroit, they ruined his carreer, treated him like crap there. He will flourish in any other city. Did you ever think it's not about the money, it's about the team? He's sick of Detroit, just like Primeau was. Detroit loves big personallities, ego players, not quiet players. Hatcher is a perfect fit for Detroit, he's another head case!

Hope to see Federov in a Av's uni, hell, even a Blues one! Anywhere but Detriot or Rangers, because I love to watch Federov play! One of the most gifted players of this era.

Flame away dead Wings fans!

He's a great player when he wants to be, one of the best in the game. Yes I wanted to see him go but there is no reason for him to be insulting us on the way out. Comparing us to communist Russia doesn't win him too many fans.

I'm really going to be interested to see who will sign him and for how much. The only teams that could pay him what he wants are Detroit, Philly, Rangers, or maybe LA. With the upcoming labor agreement, owners are assuming there will be a salary cap around $45 million next year. Who would want $10-12 million going to one player who would be 39 when his contract is up?!?

Either way I think this will work for the Wings. Datysuk and Zetterberg are coming into their own and we now have the money to get Hatcher and 1 more good player. We'll continue to be a contender and Fedorov will have his millions, respect, and a season long fight just to make the playoffs.

The economics of NHL hockey suck.
It is so gratifying when the big spending teams (Rangers) miss the playoffs. LMAO

I much prefer the competitive balance of the NFL.

Speaking of asses, Kariya has made over $80 million in Anaheim. They make it to the 7th game of the Stanley Cup Finals and then refuses to accept a pay cut? Giguere carried the Ducks on his shoulders to the 7th game and now Kariya is insulted by management's decision to open up some money to take the Ducks to the next level? This oft-injured forward is a hell of a player but his actions lead me to question his integrity. He accepts an offer of $1.2 million from the Avs and turns his back on the only organization he's known. :WTF: He's gonna find out that the real hockey world is a lot different place than Disneyland. We'll see what he's really worth after this season. It's gonna be a lot less than what Anaheim used to pay him.
