For some reason my buner keeps ****ing up now. I got 700 mb Imation multi speeds Cd's
But when ever I try to burn more then 400 mb on it, it crashes after 90% :bandhead:
I tried to burn slower, didnt help, I tried other programs like Roxio or Cd Cloner, didnt work. I tried to update my nero version and that didnt help either. I also tried it with Cds of an other brand, but that didnt help either. I tried some stuff with the settings, but no luck there. I got the setting back to the original setting now
I either get these errors: Burn Proces failed or write error

I know that at this cd it was over the MB limit, but I burned it as audio and it was under 80 min, so It should have worked

It could be a mechanical problem where the laser head can not move any further. I would try installing a game or playing a music cd that you know takes up most of the disk to see if it can move across the entire disk.

Ok, I tried it with several music discs, that take up a full cd. All work fine

Did it just all of the sudden stop working?
Do you have DMA enabled?
Do you have a good amount of free space on the system drive?
Is your CD-RW set to master?

hmm, if it is a 16x you may want to just replace it.
I had a lot of problems with one (which had a problem at the middle of a disk)
destroyed a bunch, got a replacement from the manf, it worked,
but at the same time got a new sony, it works great.
a new burner can be had for $50 us or so here.
if you want to fix it, you can try lowering the write speed,
killing all unnecessary processes, etc,
but i have dim hopes for that helping.
good luck.

He already tried lowering the write speed. I would try to borrow a different kind of blank CD from a friend and try to burn it. Maybe you got a bad batch. If it still doesn't work, then your CD writer is probably cooked.
What do you mean it crashes after 90%? The program crashes? All of the programs you tried crashed?
Or did you just get a write error?

Yeah, you can get a "Mad Dog" or some such brand at a 52X24X52 clip for under $40, even for $20 with a mail-in. I paid $20 for mine, a cheapo 48X, works great.
