I've noticed that some high kill players have this technique where they are constantly jittering around (hi frequenecy strafing)

Looking at my keyboard, I'm simply not seeing how that action can take palce and stlil have control over forward motion.

Is this the benefit of some joystick/gamepad setup?

I have seen this too. I don't have a clue how it's done. When I use the arrow keys to try to do that, it doesn't seem like I move back and forth nearly that fast. :WTF:

it's a lag issue, you look the same for others sometimes

the technique is to mash the left and right buttons as quickly as possible. depending on prediction, the other computer will draw you in the wrong place and then move you back to catch up. so it looks like you are moving back and forth fast as hel. my fingers are too slow though...
