hmm, try browsing to the D/E drive (whichever one..), and clicking on autorun.ini. then look which program it starts, then run that.
EDIT: to fix it permanently, try right clicking on the drive in my computer, then clicking properties, then check the autoplay tab. make sure all the settings for autoplay are enabled there.

That sounds odd, like the memory problem you're having. You might try temporarily disabling your AV program, then try installing the game....if nothing else, you'll rule that out.

Really basic question, you are logged on an Administrator account, right? :oooo:

we ckecked out Baldur's gate forums and found something:
1. the game not running under NT, 2000 and XP systems, couse game is kinda old
2. if you wanna launch it on XP systems, you need to change virtual memory values, but i think its a little danger :P

Question: What kind of ram did you install? I had problems when I tried to run 2 PC133 sticks even though the system would work fine with either one independantly. Apparently there are some timing problems running two separate sticks of SDRAM at 133Mhz. :dunno:

darn, I hate when I get erooro messages.
but really, take the stuff back and tell them
it doesn't work for your system. and try another stick. if it doesn't work, and it
should work then you have a problem. or try switching slots. if you have canned air
then blow out the slot. also clean the contacts on the stick if they are less than gold.

oh, you are remembering stuff? Cool!
As for the other error, it seems to be mostly related to installing stuff from
cd-roms, i think some type of bad sector error. so you have a bad disk.
sorry, but I don't think you are going to be able to fix it.

CD's (there are 5) is fine cuz it worked on the older PC i have (with Win98), but i want it on this PC, so muy only option nw is a second HDD and win98 (dual boot)
