I know this isn't the screenies section, but I just wanted to point out the advantages of using SD! There was no way I was gonna win this game. But I started taking SD and tada! I won. I rock! :wootrock:

My main point is that yes, taking SD gives you an advantage in the game. It always has, it always will. The choice to take it or not is up to each individual person. No one is right or wrong for taking it. It's there and it's meant to be used.

Everyone needs to stop bitching about how other people play. And Jiminator, several of the Outlaws will take it to win when they are behind. So please stop complaining about it. When you condemn people for taking it, you are condemning your own clan brothers too.

Just lighten up and have fun. I went through the same phase you are going through. But now I have accepted the fact that there are no rules in the game. You play to win. That is the point of the game. The whole point. Use whatever you can to acheive that goal. :thumbs:

And I will do whatever I can to win now. Just like some of the best players do. :devil:

Why should I be respected less for doing the same thing that they are doing?

i was there, I must have hit it 3 or 4 times.

no biggie. my comments were about that you were
at one point down like 8 to 20, and you spammed me,
but you managed to come back with a very respectable score,
and you pretty much did it with shotty, and not really
that much sd. (that I saw).

for myself, I am getting used to a new type of mouse, and
some games I can do ok in, but most I get owned in,
especially where a lot of tight shotty is needed. :WTF:

Don't call me a loser dude, cause you have been the one that has been on the high horse lately, always pointing out and critisizing whenever SD is used. You critisized me for using SD in this very thread, although you tried to be clever about doing it. And you have criticized me for camping in the basement of the Hole before too. You always have excuses and complaints. How can you be part of a clan that has members that use the very same tactics that you complain about? And this is not an attack on the Outlaws. Several of the Reapers use the same tactics. As do members of many of the other clans. You are fighting a losing battle.

Obviously y'all haven't read the post by Machine on the rules of play....The only weapons allowed are knives and harsh language, and the only powerups allowed are the little white 1% health pills.

I have played for months without using SD. I have started using it in the past couple days becuase it keeps others from getting it. When someone picks up 7 SDs in a row, beats me, then posts a screenie of it, that is when I start changing my gaming tactics. I wont whore it and time them like some do, but I will pick up my fare share of them from now on.

Everyone should just play the way they want to, and learn to adapt to however someone else is playing. I think that now that I play Q3 more often it&#39;s kind of humorous to see people moaning about everything in SS. It&#39;s a death match. You learn to deal with the various situations in a game, or you die. Simple.

A DM match isn&#39;t a charity. It&#39;s about who can kill to the frag limit first.

I&#39;m not saying that I&#39;m gonna grab the SD every chance I get. But then again maybe I will. I depends on the situation. Not being in 1st place is a good reason to grab the SD, IMHO.

I think it is part of the game, but if no one is using it I won&#39;t either&#33; But when that first person grabs one then all these rules go right out the window. I use SD rarely and only in certain maps and I don&#39;t care if anyone else uses it. I know who I can beat and who can beat me, SD or no SD&#33;

Most of the time I just run away and hide when a glowing player comes around. :P

But that damn cannon is a different story&#33; It hurts my ears&#33; :w00t:

Great idea,
but custom maps usually just crash the game server.

Croteam doesn&#39;t really seem to care either.

The server admin can disable the health and armor though. :ohmy:

a no health/armor server would be nice.
it would negate most pups anyway since it would be mostly a one/two shot kill,
and no refills on the health.

No. There would be no point to taking away health and armor.

I think some people here are more suited to the game Pong. No pups in that game. :thumbs:

There are no excuses when you are a MERC. If you lose then you are unworthy. It&#39;s as simple as that. Or at least that&#39;s the way it used to be. Maybe the MERCS have softened. :oooo:

You don&#39;t see the Merc&#39;s like you used to these days. I haven&#39;t played in a while (well I did at the LAN) but you just don&#39;t hear about it anymore. Anyone have a recent screenie of like Lev playing sam? :WTF: In fact you don&#39;t see really any of the "good ol players" play anymore. It just isn&#39;t the same, and to be quite honest (IMO) we killed sam. It isn&#39;t fun being bitched at, all the whinning about rockets, spamming, aliases, power pups, and the list goes on and on. I remember when there was atleast one God, an Outlaw, a Merc, a DOA, DWF, and some people without "flashy" names (asking how you get flashy names :rofl: )

What ever happened to those days, when it was fun? :WTF: We killed sam, and only a numbered few play it anymore due to that. I know that is why I don&#39;t play it. And the community of sam, IMO sucks. Where&#39;s the mods, the ton&#39;s of maps, the support of the creators? Althought sam still has potential, till they release something new, it will still continue to be a bitchy, whinny fest about pups, rockets, alias, ect. :down:

Alright then Grimmy, shut up and go play something else. I still like SS, and all the clans have plenty of people who still play it. I&#39;m getting rather tired of a GM admin constantly slamming SS. Isn&#39;t that rather against the whole purpose of the GM philosophy? There are many people who still enjoy it and play it. "We" didn&#39;t kill SS, it is very much alive. But you seem to be on a personal mission to kill it. Why is that?

Go play UFT or whatever it is that you are playing now, and leave the SS players the hell alone. We don&#39;t miss you anyway. There are still several Outlaws that still play on a regular basis, and I enjoy fragging with them. :thumbs:

All the bitchers and whinners complaining all the time about taking power ups and all that crap killed the game for me, and I am sure for others too. It&#39;s very much alive, at the present moment there are 4 whole players on the frag servers :rolleyes: Course it is late at night, but I see it that way quite often.

Where did you not read I was stating my opinion, IMO=in my opinion. Plus there were some facts in there. You can&#39;t tell me that people haven&#39;t left due to that stuff. If you want to continue playing, that&#39;s fine. Fact is sam lost it&#39;s spunk. Other games were discovered, and are starting to take over GM. Even clans are disapearing too :unsure:

regular palyers who you knew well and had a
a laugh with. Just beacuse they are no longer
playing does&#39;nt mean Sam is dying.

The fact is that Sam is not dead or dying.
Having said that, I still see a lot of the old hands
playing and a large amount of new ones too.

Villains is a new SS clan yet we are thriving. CF has
really began to thrive now too, as are the Reapers.
Other clans including the Outlaws and DOA continue
to increase their membership.

There are more and more Europeans coming into Sam
now and more servers to. Villains has a regular 24/7
server and we are just about to launch second one.

Sam IMO is thriving but with a whole new set of players
and characters.

As to pups....who cares :thumbs:

It has been through some rough patches but it is still here and largely responsible for the creation of this community :thumbs: As many of you know I have a server for the Outlaws (UK) and that is because I love the game along with many other fraggers.Also it obvious who they are but there are certain people responsible for providing long standing servers.It is something that we all should be thankfull for as they have provided us with a great deal of fun and friendships(as a result). Lag correction and elimination of F9&#39;s would breath alot of life into Sam. However, when I go to EB games and see Sam on the shelf for &#036;4.99, it&#39;s time to admit it....the games life is pretty much over.

I still think it was an awesome game, but even awesome games have a limited life. Eventually, all games will get boring if you play them enough for a long period of time. That&#39;s why I have adopted a philosophy of having at least 3 games that I play on a regular basis. I try to make sure that they are from different genres so that I don&#39;t get bored with any of them. To this point, it&#39;s worked out very well.
