Yea, when you are on a slow ass connection like I have here are work, then you are ok, becuase it takes 1-2 minutes for a page to load. Now if I go home, then it is right now.

Posting here at work, I have to have lots of windows open, because I won't wait for everything to load, but at home, just one. I love cable :D

When do you actually get any work done? And for that matter, what do you do for a living? (if you don't mind me asking)

Grimmy
10-17-2002, 05:19 PM
Yes I get work done. Yesterday was just a slow day, so I had a lot of slacker/smoke break times

I am an electrician for a stamping factory. We stamp out automobile parts. If I had some pics of the presses, I would show ya. We are getting ready to fire up our newest press, press 26, which is a 2000 ton press and it is HUGEEE.

Maybe they will let my take my digi cam in and take a pic.

Mr Clean

That would be cool to see. My dad works at a place that does all kinds of cool stuff, like plasma laser cutting, bending steel sheets a foot thick (now that's a machine), and they have a 1000 ton hoist at the back of the shop.....dude

Grimmy
10-17-2002, 05:48 PM
That is a big hoist. We have a 50ton, and a couple, think 3 30ton hoists also. I will see what I can do as for pics. They are running this weekend, so many I could go and take a pic.

Mr Clean
10-17-2002, 06:26 PM
They use that hoist to lift some of the speciality items they make, like these huge cooling towers for oil refineries. They load it on a rail car and push it down to the river (Mississippi) and put it on a barge....

I'll see if I can get some pics of that thing as well....

Grimmy

Kewl, we use our 50ton to move big coils of steal, the dies out of what we call the backline, which it 6 presses right in a row. I piece of flat steel goes in, and then through all six presses getting different things done to it, and then out the end. Most are finished by the end of the 6th one, and then ship out, but others have to get parts welded on to them and stuff like that.

Mr Clean
10-18-2002, 04:39 PM
Yeah, they got some welders that do some amazing things, like welding multiple types of metals together in layers in stack assemblies and stuff....pretty precision stuff...

Grimmy

Kewl. I should have taken the cam with me yesterday. I was looking for something to do, everything ran very well. I like those days :D

Mr Clean

You know, this has turned into the Clean and Grimmy thread. (Or Grimmy and Clean thread if you really want top billing). I bet all the other sorry posters at GM are insanely jealous.... :D

Grimmy
10-18-2002, 11:44 PM
lol, they probably are. I thought it was funny how this thread started, and then how it got so off topic. Starting to feel like the blabla or the lounge thread

Mr Clean
10-22-2002, 01:53 PM
Off topic? I can't even remember what the topic was.....

Grimmy
10-22-2002, 03:59 PM
lol, me either, wonder if it was something do to with work topic?? if not, we should make one!

Mr Clean
10-22-2002, 06:03 PM
But we'd just get off topic from that anyways. What we should do is start one on another topic and then switch it to work when no one is looking....

Grimmy
10-22-2002, 06:29 PM
hehhehe, we can do that in any topic!! :D

Mr Clean
10-22-2002, 07:15 PM
We should have an offtopic clan! Course we would never get around to starting it because we'd be busy doing something else... :D

Grimmy
10-24-2002, 01:16 AM

Mr Clean
10-24-2002, 03:39 AM
I'd post something witty but instead I'm going to hit submit and then hit the fridge and submit myself to a brew-dog....

Grimmy
10-24-2002, 04:46 AM
Sounds like a good idea Clean!

Mr Clean
10-24-2002, 03:53 PM
And it was....especially that old can of Michelob Golden in the back of the fridge with an Aug 99 born-on date...yummy

Grimmy
10-24-2002, 06:06 PM

Mr Clean
10-24-2002, 06:22 PM

Mr Clean
10-25-2002, 04:47 AM

Grimmy
10-25-2002, 05:07 AM
now that you said that, I woke up this morning with a little of a sore throat. :(

It is all your fault dammit!

Mr Clean
10-25-2002, 02:39 PM
Have a six pack of Bud Light tonight and get some sleep....

Grimmy
10-25-2002, 04:37 PM
I would, but I have to work tomarrow also. They are behind in parts, so they drag me in to make sure everything runs good

Mr Clean
10-25-2002, 06:11 PM
Have a six pack of Bud Light, two aspirin, and get some sleep... :D

Grimmy
10-25-2002, 06:28 PM
sleep?? what is that?? Also what are the asprin for?

Mr Clean
10-25-2002, 08:19 PM
Supposedly if you take two aspirin and a glass of water before you go to bed you won't wake up with a hangover....

Grimmy
10-25-2002, 11:15 PM
I don't get hangovers, I just make sure I get enough sleep!

Mr Clean
10-26-2002, 04:51 PM
Well, yeah, if you want to do it the right way..... :D

Grimmy
10-26-2002, 05:04 PM
I didn't do it the right way this morning. But all is good, it was a rowdy night here last nite!

Mr Clean
10-26-2002, 06:08 PM

And I was better at drinking....

Grimmy
10-26-2002, 09:01 PM
