How do you do this in Quake? Also - I saw someone&#39;s name blinking back and forth between two entirely different names. It wasn&#39;t just letters flashing on and off, it was changing back and forth between "<-glu->" and "Aftabirth". How the heck did he make it do that? :blink:

He&#39;s on the JunkPhreak server right now.

OT why are my smiles and other buttons not working? anyone else have that problem.

The flashing names is done alot in OSP, which UFT borrows alot from.link (http://www.orangesmoothie.org/)

You should be able to find what you&#39;re looking for.

I&#39;m pretty sure those are scripts Sirc. Also, people will play under an alias (heaven forbid) and then at the end of the game, sometimes they will flash their "normal" name and the new name so everyone knows who they are. (kind of nice....some SS people should take notes)

The changing name thing can be done by simply binding keys to the commands that change your name.

FYI, both borland and I agree that there will be no blinking names in UFT. We come from the "HTML <blink> tag is evil" camp, and want to have nothing to do with giving people headaches. Unless it&#39;s because they play a lot of Freeze Tag, that is. :)

The potential for visual abuse is just way too high. <blink>Just look at this crap. Can you actually read it?</blink> ;)

BTW, vax (the owner of ufreeze.com - great guy) made a name creation utility for mIRC. You can get it here:

it would be no worse than playing with blinking sam tags, and no worse than having a name that spans half the screen
