What if I Take the case of my HP Pavilion built in 2000 will it run faster? Right now I have the side case off and a 6 inch fan is blowing in. It's not overheating or anything but i wanna know how to make my PC the best it can be rather than a peice of **** bought at CompUSA. So give me some tips on how to make it run faster, better, and more efficient.I just defragged today. It also looks like the big group of wires in their are in the way of the fans air... Thanks, and here are my specs....

OS: Windows 98 4.10 (Build: 67766446)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 653 MHz with 383MB RAM
Nvdia GEForce2
40GB H/D with 10.9G used

Well since Pentiums run much cooler then Amd, I don't think that is necessary. ;) You can put your sides back on your case. In some instances it is a bad idea to open your case, because some are designed to pull air from one end and bring it across the board and out the other end. So if you leave it open, the fan pulls the air in from the side and no air goes across the board.

Dude, you could get a Dell :D That is what I have. Didn't have the money to build one, and I didn't buy it. My roommate did, I just told him what goodies I wanted in it 8)
