GM Tags Day...

What would everyone think about this. It's actually Ada's idea from the "just want you to know how i feel" thread with a few modifications. I think she may have just been joking, but it sounds like fun to me....

We have a contest to see who can come up with the best looking GM game tag (mainly for SS, but other games could be included). Then on GM's anniversary everyone uses the winning GM tags instead of their clan tags with their regular game names. If nothing else it will freak out all the non-clanners. :P

Good idea? Bad idea? :hmmm:

EDIT: Actually the non-clanners should be free to use the GM tag too. One big GM clan. :thumbs:

I thinks it's a good idea. It will make the GM members that are not in a clan feel like they belong to something, and the ones that are in a clan part of something bigger. All hail ADA and Sirc for bringing this up.

It's a cool idea but, will everyone do it? :thumbs: It kinda defeats the purpose if you don't have a 100% particaption(sp)!

It was a serious idea. It followed my one about a Gold Maps weekend. That was enourmously successful. Everyone that could - took part and lots of screenies were posted.

This time, we could have a dedicated Gamemecca tags server for a weekend and all wear our newly-made GM tags and take it from there. This would be a great way to promote GM in its anniversary week.

These ideas need developing - so please everyone - chip in&#33; :drink:

Um, what do you mean a dedicated tag server? I don&#39;t think there is any way to stop people who are not wearing the tags from joining a server. Or did you mean password protected?

No not just for us - for anyone - but all Gamemeccerers should wear their GM tag to play on it.

I guess the best way to judge the tags is for people to post the code. The only way you can really judge it will be in a running game so you can see all the flashy thingies. :hmmm:

Of course we could all make our own tags and just wear them so we were all different and people would at least still notice the name and hopefully check out hte site.

I think we should have Gamemecca tags for every game aswell - not just the usual ones but any that we play online that day. They don&#39;t have to be coloured as I know some games don&#39;t have this facility. (Or we might not be able to work how to do it&#33;)
