Here are a few pictures from Camus and my vacation to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. It was only for 4 days and one day was a wedding, but we made the most of it!

Chapel Falls at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore...

Looking down from the trail we hiked 5 miles on to get to our campsite (at Chapel Beach) each of us with 75-80 lb backpacks on our backs... :oooo:

Off another cliff into Lake Superior in the fog... The cliffs are about 300 ft high in most spots.

Camus took nearly all the photos... He has a good eye for it and wants to get into photography professionally... Thanks for the compliment Nightbreed!!

Off yet another cliff into Lake Superior... Not nearly as foggy this time...

Chapel Rock. Notice the tree roots (left side of picture) going across to the main land so the tree can get water. It's on an island!! :w00t: I took this picture though, not nearly as good as some Camus has on the regular cameras (non-digital, I mean)...

Black Bear at a bear sanctuary in Newberry, Michigan... The had three huge habitats (takes at least fifteen minutes to walk around each one without stopping to look even) and then two pairs of cubs that some people got to pet :w00t: I just missed a chance to pet them. :bawling: They were amazing!

Going over the Mackinac (pronounced Mackinaw) Bridge. I think it's longer than the Golden Gate Bridge, but I might be wrong... The bridge connects Michigan's Upper and Lower Peninsula. People from the UP call the Lower Peninsula folks Trolls...  (People who live below the bridge) We want to move to Marquette, largest city in the UP. It's where the wedding was... Great town, great people so much to see and do!!

Thank you! The couple that got married were two close friends of mine who moved up to Marquette from Grand Rapids, MI (where I live) to go to school at Northern Michigan Univ and fell in love with the UP and decided to buy property and stay there... They bought 40 acres not far outside Marquette for $40,000. Amazing!!! :wootrock:

Warm enough to swim, but you usually don't swim for very long.... It is unbelievably clear though! :wootrock:
