:wootrock: How does everything look? Compare it to your 9700 Pro, things looky a little different? Just wondering what you getting for FPS in some games.

Well I ran a bench mark in Sam and at 1024x768x32 quality I get around 155fps average. My high peak was like 450fps and low was 95fps. Compared to the ATI 9700 pro it is not a huge difference but substantial enough that I am happy I bought it. My 3D 2003 score with the ATI overclocked was like 5060 or something. (Note to BiggD if you read this, I did not run the card overclocked I only overclocked it once for benching. The card went back to default clock speeds immediately after.) So already my score has come up almost a thousand points. I still have some more room to overclock too which will probably put my score over 6000 points. Right now there is no reason to leave the card overclocked though, it eats all the current games you can throw at it with the default clock speeds. I also like Nvidia's control panel and drivers way better. One thing for sure it is quiet, but the heat sink is a monster. That said though, it actually looks pretty cool through the side panel.

Here I dropped the processor back by about 5% to 3.220ghz and cranked up the core clock to 500MHz and memory clock to 951MHz. System was totally stable and graphics ran smooth in the test. Still room to go higher. Actually I saw some results with the same set up as mine in which people were able to clock them up to over 1Ghz. Their scores were in the 7500 to over 8000 range in 3DMark. I am not that hard core and will not be attempting that though. :P

A couple of nice reasons Nvidia makes better drivers. Nice to be able to force refresh right from the control panel.

For those of you who can't effort the 5900 can go with the 5600 ultra, which is worth the price and the results. I still thing that it's too much money for the 5900 but they are improving it but not worth to buy in my book because the bench mark at Tom's Hardware I wasn't impress at all but was impress by the 5600 ultra, especially for the price.

I am going to wait or sit it out but will consider the 5600 ultra instead.
