Thank God Michigan is back up. I just got the juice back about an hour ago and my cable just came up.

Only bad thing, we still have no water. DL = STINKY!!!!

Kind of scary up here folks. A lot of people running around now looking for gas stations that are opened. I made it home from work on Thursday with about 5 miles left on my tank. Not cool. I cannot wait to hear how SAS faired in New York. This blackout was not cool.

I take it Sal is still without power or connectivity. I cannot even reach him on his home phone or cell.

I'm back! Wow that sucked. No water, electricity, or gas. It was hot as hell as it was in the high 80's with 90% humidity. What sucked most is that my dad was in the middle of a root canal when the power went out. They basically stopped halfway and gave him a bunch of pain pills for the weekend. Also sucks that today is my wife's birthday and we can't do anything since everyone is closed. :(

The gas station scene is eerie. People fighting and lines literally miles long. Very weird seeing Detroit pitch black at night. Glad it's over.

hello all, got my electric back on here in ny at 3:00 pm yesterday. it figures my town was one of the last ones to get the electric back. i spoke with sas this morning and he has in electric on but having computer problems.

i will say this was pretty rough and it was very hot. it was 101 degrees yesterday and most people excepted the situation pretty well. the first day caught everyone by suprise as many people hat to walk home from manhattan. i don't know if anyone has been on a subway here but i can tell you it's worst when there is no lights or airconditioning. you may think some people stink in general but with nothing to keep the stench cold and ripe, you are in trouble. i think ice was sold out within 1 hour. as for water we still had it running but taking an ice cold shower was rough.

i am glad i pretty much still had my 9/11 kit pretty handy. between candlles lights and radio and uzi i felt my family was pretty safe. this is the first time i have turned my pc on in 2 days and that was also kind of different not having the usual schedule and reading material. i cant take this heat anymore and am looking forward to middle september.

as far as homeland security and billions of our tax dollars being spent for it, this whole ordeal is a disgrace. regardless if it was caused by what ever they say it was or terrorists, it only goes to show how easy it is to cripple us. i do not feel comfortable living here in the big apple wondering what could of been being done in the dark. some people may think thats just paraoid thinking but hell we are at war that many people do not pay attention to. hopefully this was just an easier wakeup call and not another beguinning to a new 9/11 part 2. it appears the only way our gov't reacts is if two buildings get struck and thousands of people lose there life (just my frustrations talking here).

well i hope everyone is doing well and has everything running. i am going to now invest in a generator for future outages. I also need to restock on candles batteries and also food which over 200 dollars has to be thrown in the trash.
