Hi everyone

WinBlows broke down on my comp...I couldn't start it up and couldn't even reach BIOS

as far as I know it's not caused by a virus
I have no clue about the real cause though

so I dusted off my old Rig

and now I'm pushing this :jammin: Awesome :jammin:

Pentium 133mhz :w00t:

My first was a pentium 25 with an awesome 128k cache! :wootrock:
ibm 100+
cyrix 166+
amd k6-266
amd 800 -> amd 1200
celeron 566 (linux box)
amd 1800
pentium 2400 (to 3.0)

the last 4 I still have and are in use...

I wonder how long they will be able to keep up with moores law
(to double processor speed every two years...)

I had a 50mhz cpu, I only play doom n' doom2, with all the Xargon games too... on it...
My first cpu there, then I got 100MHZ, then 200, then 300, and now a 433mhz cpu, later on this 900Mhz...
I miss Xargon...

well as for running old games you do have a point. one thing people forget is the old os's does not have all that firmware and copyright protection stuff on so you would have less a problem of backing up your cd's for safe keeping. i do enjoy nt4 for these things and the no spyware running in the background.

nt 4.0 will run perfect with just 64 megs of ram on any system over 2oo mhz. most people throw these away but they still have alot of life in them.

I'd hate to tell y'all how many video cards, mobos, processors, modems, heat sinks, etc.... i've throw away in the past two days. I know they're out of date now, But it still hurts to just trash that stuff. :(

BTW I just couldn't part with the voodoo cards for some crazy reason

hmmm, i wonder if you have a couple of the ones that you can run two together....
I bet they would be dog-ass slow compared to the crappy cards of today....

Yep I have some of those and also this LINK (http://www.gamersdepot.com/oldsite/rev-quantum3d-obsidian.htm). That X-24 was the mack daddy back in the day. Still by todays standards they would be slow
