i don't think this is related to sam whatsoever.. could this be my problem when i try to install it? this was in the main croteam folder.

dunno what that is, although the ex_ are usually compressed versions of the file,
stored on floppy or cd. i assume that you have deleted the entire croteam directory
and tried to reinstall right?

yes, he has. also, when he went to his uncles house, the computer would install sam and play it fine, with no issues or anything.

fdisk/format - worked for my bros computer on which it would autodelete the exe file.
well, actually i set up a new master drive and used his old one as a slave
unfortunately he still can't play sam, he only gets from .5 to 7 fps....
time to upgrade....
