I have always liked the casters epic armor. Looks sweet. I posted some pics of Mitchyl's epic armor when I got it. Search around in the Whitehawk Screenshots area.

Back to the subject at hand: Epic Armor

Now that you are aware of the Epic Armor, it's time to enlighten those that don't know. The best armor in the game (at any level) is player crafted and player imbued with magical properties (known as spellcrafting). Player crafted armor is generally higher quality (94-100 vs 85 - 89 for most drops). And the magical properties some drops have can easily be outdone by a good spellcrafter.

This is the reason my 50 cleric has his Epic Chain in the closet after I made a full set of 98+ qual and had a friend imbue it for me.

The drawback is that it takes alot of time to make armor and to spellcraft it. It also costs a good bit of coin. But if you want the best, this is what it takes.
