Yeah, but there are a LOT of updates to download from the Microsoft sight. And I'm sure he's checking for the latest drivers for everything. It takes a long time to reinstall. Not to mention all the apps and games he uses.

I'm back! The drive kicks serious ass but their install program does not. I ended up using the Windows XP disk to partition the disk. Now I just have to reinstall everything and re-tweak. Also, I am working on making my home machine a staging server so I can try to duplicate our problems here and try to fix them without effecting anyone else.

I just put in a maxtor on my machine, It would not format from the XP cd, I had to get a ME boot disk, then i reformatted when I got XP to load, I might run over to frys and get me another 30 gig drive and raid it, hell for $50.00 its a good deal. I am not to sure about XP yet, am having some issues with the clock on my sound blaster live 5.1, but they only have a 1 year warrenty,,,, if i could find another sound card...... anyway.... I hear maxtor makes a good drive,,,, looks like we will find out..... 8)

Check the hardware forum. You can grab that Maxtor 30G for $30. That's the one I just installed.
