How do I........

....find out what what my download and upload
speeds are? And which one is the most important
for playing Sam?

I installed 2.2Mbit ADSL connection a couple
of weeks ago in the hope it would make my
connection speed to the Sam Servers better.
But if anything the lag has worse, much worse :WTF:

I don't know about SSSE, but for bandwidth tests and tweaks go to PCpitstop Link (http://www.pcpitstop.com/internet/default.asp) Run their upload and downloqd test. They have many useful tools there.

DSLReports (http://www.dslreports.com) also has a good test to run to check your bandwidth...doesn't require any membership either

2.2 mbit = 2200 Kbit = 270 Kb/s dl speed ...

It doesnt matter if u have DSL with 90 Kb/s or DSL 270 Kb/s , that wont change anything to ur ping. Upload is important when u host games ... more up speed = more players can be hosted.

Btw even with 56 K u can get better pings (!) then with DSL... in some cases
