We need a good logo/mascot that we can use for our upcoming store and we need your help. Can you post any of your Photoshop skills in this thread and we can all choose what we like.

Keep sizes around 300x300 pixels.
Please use 300dpi
MUST look good on a white background.

Please don't post spam or useless pics. The sooner we find a cool logo, the sooner the store opens. Thanks.

How exactly is the logo going to be used? For printing on merchandise? Is there a limit to the number of colors?

And I agree with Shogun. It would help if you could make the font available for download.

There have been some really cool designs so far, but I have a feeling that the logo will need to be printable on t-shirts, coffe cups, etc. I'm not sure if full color designs like that will work, although I have seen it done. Usually there is a limit of between 1-6 colors.

SAL, can you clear this up for us?

I used to Decorate glass ware and coffee mugs at Libbey Glass and the most colors we could put on a mug or a glass was 6.

It would be an online store run from GameMecca I assume.

The logo would be used on apparel and items in our store. You can use unlimited colors. Also, you can find the font we use at www.1001freefonts.com (sorry for the popups) and it is called "abduction". Keep them coming guys!

Seriously, Neo and Sac that is some impressive stuff! You both made some kick-ass looking logos there.

Keep in mind a simplier design will probably mean cheaper shirts....

That is a kick ass design. I don't think drop shadow's will show up well on a shirt so we may have to lose them. Also, have you tried with a darker blue fading to a lighter blue so it stands our more on a white shirt?

Ok lost depth when removed the shawdows, so I changed bevel and text to different color. I kinda like the grey myself. Let me know if ya like the grey.

Wow that is so weird. I am at work and my monitor displays the color totally different. They almost look kinda tan? :? Sal I will post the last one with out the shadows to see if ya like it. I will try and tone the lighting just a little bit on it, so it doesn't look too plastic.

My computer at home is set at 32, the one in my office may only go up to 16 so that may be the reason. I only do the work from my home though, as it is a much better system and display. So no, it wasn't a stupid question! :)

Sweet! That's the best so far. Should the GameMecca.net be a tad larger so it is clearer?

Also, you're going to want a MUCH larger version if you are going to put it on a t-shirt. Unless its gonna be really small.

Well Sal asked for 300x300, so I reduced the size. However I have it saved in raw form so it can be sized to whatever a printer may need. ;) Typically the printers like .tif files, totally uncompressed. I know when I have brouchures made, they request everything .tif, the files are giagantic, like 10 and 20 megs. I think that Sal is thinking like the pocket logo or something. I don't know how it would look blown up to cover the whole shirt? :?

Actually the shirt company uses PNG files that should be 300dpi. The logo would just be a pocket logo and will measure about 3 inches tall. BTW, I like your latest design the best!

Try it the way tattoo artists produce it.
Blue=lighter blue=to lighter blue the n to white.
Its hard to explain.

I will just keep making a bunch. Here is my attempt at a 3D render. This took a long time. As I had never really worked to much in rendering and lighting and x, y and z planes, shading, filling, texturing, highlighting, smoothing. Well even if it doesn't go on the shirt, I am sure we can find something to do with it! ;)

Thanks Guys! :) Well, you know, I keep going back to the original design. Sometimes, you hit the nail on the head with your first instinct. The 3D render maybe can be used as an award from Gamemecca? Like if you go to Croteam's site they have all those awards on the right side of the screen. So if like we like a game that comes out we can send the software company an award letter and graphic, meaning that it earns our approval. Remember guys, think BIG. Lots of times software developers will release game demos to respected sites and players ahead of everyone else to get an opinion on it. Just my thoughts..... :)
