One thing I hate about Q3 is installing new mods :bawling:

I did everything like I was supposed to and it wacked my computer out. I deleted all the alliance stuff and all is well now. :thumbs:

I was taught to dl stuff to a dl folder and extract it there, then copy and paste to the programs/Q3 folders. For some reason when I dl'ed from your links, I don't get the option of extracting there. I tried it twice and still no luck. :WTF:

it should of been an exe file. All you had to do is double click on it and follow the
instuctions? Dont try to extact it. Do the Alliance 3.0 first and then do the update,
once that works do the map packs. I didnt have any problem and thought it was finally
nice to see an easy installation :wacko:

OK, I followed your instructions and it got all wacked out again. I dl where you said to and double clicked the exe's and installed them where you said to. Tried to join via ASE and all I get is a white screen. Waited for a couple of minutes to see if it would work, which it didn't. So I had to ctrl/alt/delete to get out of it. check out the screenie to see what I mean by wacked out.

Thats odd the screenie looks good here but, when I took it you could barely see it, it was like a glowing whiteness had took over. :hmmm:

Spike is running the 1.32 point release right?

server 1 is running the CTF maps so you may need them to join the server. Also I copyied
my q3config file from my baseq3 folder to the Alliance folder and all my setting worked.

I am getting the message "couldn't load default config." I put my baseq3 config in the Alliance folder, same deal. When I tried to join the server it said I didn't have vm33.pk3 (I do.) So I tried turning off auto-downloading and got the couldn't load map message (I have it.) :hmmm:

That's great Dan2. :hmmm: I assume you have all the map packs. how did you join? from the desktop icon or ASE?. I was having a problem with punkbuster saying that it wasnt enabled and I couldnt fine a way to turn it on so I copyied my config to the Alliance folder and I could join from the desktop icon. I could get in from ASE. there is a way to save your setting but I have not found it yet. I will reset the server for reg game and see if that works.

This is what I liked the most:

Referees have the power to do everything needed to setup and run a match. Simply select REFEREE from the in-game menu. The first time you use it, you will be promted for the ref_password. Once you have access to the menu, you will be able to move players from one team to another and kick players. You can change gametype and game mode. Refs can change maps, limits, grapple and pogo settings. They can start, stop and pause matches. A brand new Alliance feature allows referees to temporarily password servers. There is no danger of refs accidentally leaving a server passworded as this password is wiped out once the match ends.

All these features are easy to navigate in the REFEREE menu. Running a match was never easier
This should make it easy for clans to set up practice, and for tourneys

it seems it could not allocate enough ram to use. what is your \com_hunkmegs set to? (this command tells quake3 how much ram to use, the default is 56, i reccomend 128). Sometimes on high settings and loading a big map, you get that type of error.

The min req mem is 80 meg. if you use the desktop icon it will let you set that when the game starts.

Hey Frag, sorry to get back to you so late but, for some reason I can&#39;t get this mod to install correct. I&#39;ve tried 4 times and get the same results. Have you ever tried setting things up in self-extracting zip files? Then all I/we have to do is double click the zip and it goes to where the person that set up the zip file directs it to go. :thumbs: I&#39;m sure you knew about this already&#33;&#33; :P

btw I&#39;m not playing DAOC, I just took he weekend off from gaming :jammin:

I hadn&#39;t tried the desktop Icon before, but as soon as I clicked it, set the Hunkmegs, I was able to play.

Worked like a champ for me. I liked it, The mini-gun rocks&#33; :thumbs:

Just make sure you are telling it to install into the C:&#092;Program files&#092;Quake III Arena folder when it ask you for all of the 4 install programs. You should see a folder named alliance in the Quake III Arena folder if you did it correctly.

Also depending on how much memory your system has, You should be using these settings in your q3config file.

The files came that way. you did have the option to DL the zips if you prefer. all I did was follow the instuctions. all I can say is make sure you put the files in your Quake III Arena folder the program will do the rest.

I am running TDM all weapons right now. The Hold the flag game sounds like fun

Hold The Flag is a brand new gametype created by the Alliance team. It&#39;s a one flag CTF game in which players must take the neutral flag and return it to their own base. Once the flag has been taken to base, points start wracking up for the team that&#39;s holding it. The other team must then try to steal the flag from their enemy and return it to their own base. We feel this new gametype offers some very interesting possibilities as it puts entire teams on either offense or defense. Hold the Flag replaces One Flag CTF from version 2.5.

Hmmm the last part looks like it might say "An updated game patch needs to be installed" is why I think it has something to do with the update patch. :WTF:

Maybe delete the alliance folder and reinstall all four (Mod, Mod update and both mappacks) again and see what happens.

I checked all the meg stuff in my Q3 baseq3 folder and it is already setup to the correct settings for my memory. :thumbs:

I was having a few problem with my settings when I would joined the server. Heres what I did. I copyied my q3config in my baseq3 folder and pasted it to my destop. Then I renamed it AUTOEXEC (lower case) make sure its a file type cfg (autoexec.cfg) then copy it to your Alliance folder. Now my setting are there no mater how I join. let me see if I can fine where I read that.

one thing noticed about the autoexec.cfg up must up date it every time you change your settings. copy the q3config from the Alliance folder to it. after your game or changes :thumbs:
