I have seen this before.
If you have Nortons System Works do a disk cleanup from that.
Also I don't use the Windows built in cleanup tools.
Norton IMO is a much better product.
You may want to find a reg clean up program as well.
That may solve the problem
I use Registry First Aid.

Another thing you can do is just do one "area" at a time.
What I mean is, uncheck some of those boxes, do the disk clean up, and then go back in and check the boxes you had un checked, then do another clean up.
That's what worked for me, when I had the same problem as you're having.

ok, i tried registry first aid, that didnt help. but i found out that its not even saving temporary internet files at all. so its kinda a piss off to have to reload everything every time i refresh a page, especially on dialup.

boot up in safe mode
disable all running apps
then try disk clean up
type in msconfig in the run at stsrtup button
here is where you can disable your startup programs and then enable 1 by 1 to see if problems come back. if you find the one that is giving you a problem--report back and will explain how to remove application either from your system or your startup.

Regestry first aid probably would have fixed it but since it was only the trial version it only fixed 18 out of all the problems it found.
i went to the microsoft site and found the fix for it. LINK (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;812930&Product=winxp)
it seems to be working fine now.

norton system works is amazing.it does nearly all you ever need, and it covers a lot.you can clean cookies, internet temp files, active x controls,it has a reg editor,it just rocks.find 60 bucks and go to wally world and get it asap.it comes witha 30 dollar rebate,so it really only is 30$. :jammin:
