It all depends on the quality of the vest.
Most can take at least a 22cal shell.

I stand corrected....I would imagine that is why some folks wear a trauma plate behind the vest......I remember the old vest would stop a large slow moving bullet but not a small fast one.....like a 22-250

If they coat the bullets in teflon won't they go through the vests?
