Yes it's sad, but in many ways, fires can be good for the forests.link1 (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/1747062.stm) , link2 (http://forests.org/recent/2000/flfirene.htm). granted, at the cost of lives and homes, it's horrible, but fires are a natural and sometime neccessary part of our ecosystem.

Forest fires are actually good for the forest. too bad people get in the way most of the time.

Yes, I live in BC and it was the big story of the summer.
Hundreds of houses and business' were destroyed. :bawling:

Impressive photos. And i agree with others, it's a shame we can't stop to appreciate the beauty without first considering the damage done.
