Half-life 2 Delayed Until April '04

Somehow I doubt that it takes 6 months to rewrite some code for the game. I'm betting it was seriously behind schedule anyways. Maybe the code never was stolen and it's a nice conspiracy?

Nope, it was stolen, I er, have a friend, um, that says he has seen it,
but it isn't useful for anything unless you are seriously into
developing games & such. The game is supposed to run sukily on geforce
cards anyway. hopefully they can fix that with the added time...
the source code may help the mod community though...

That's too bad. Been reading about that 9800XT, and they said there will be another release of cards, that are suppose to be bigger, badder, better (you know how it goes) in 6 months, which would probably be the time HL2 comes out. Hold the ticket for a free game for 6 months, to find out a new badass card just came out, but you bought the 9x00XT already, just no game.

I was thinking about upgrading my video card soon, but with no great graphic pushing PC games coming out until spring, I have no reason to look for a card now.

This thing with HL2 is pretty odd, I seriously hope it isn't delayed as long as that, of course. That's some pretty serious theft, they must have covered their tracks pretty well, but even so, a loose lip or something here or there could sink them. I suppose it depends on how hard they go after them, or him or her.

And I hope JIM is wrong, and that my GF4 will push HL2, but he's likely right and it will be very optimised for the ATI cards. I can't remember the specs they were anticipating it will need offhand, but they seemed fairly modest as I remember.

features? yeah, one of the features is that it runs in dx8 mode instead of dx9 mode on geforce cards so that the game is playable. drop enough of the
graphics highlights, and you are only playing halflife with new maps....
