It sounds even worse than Postal 2.

the ability to smother someone with a plastic bag goes behind the comedy violence of GTA 3/VC.

I can't be in more agreement. There is a fine line between the real world and the videogame world.

Does this bring up ESRB's "Ao" rating?

Has anyone seen Bowling for Columbine?

I got no problem with killing in games, but I don't see the point of killing for killings sake, and the idea of suffocating someone with a Plastic Bag does not appeal.....who knows if it will be good though? Rockstar have had their share of bad games also, "State of Emergency" anyone?

but Boston Shocker, I do agree about the games being a way to go past the constraints of reality, I'm not entirely keen on realistic war games etc. I mean, Serious Sam in single player kicked ass, no matter what I thought about Multiplayer.

While indeed it sounds gruesome, you just can't argue against it's release. Bad taste or not, people should be able to enjoy these games if they choose too.
Hey, who knows, may turn out to be fun in a sick, depraved, sort of way.

Killing is killing in a video game. We live in a country which has a video game for free, teaching and training the youth how to kill for our own military. You think a plastic bag is bad? Give me a break....

sorry for digging up an old thread but i just bought this game a couple days ago and all i can say is   .
this game is nuts, here are some weapons ive come across so far: plastic bag, piece of glass, small and large baseball bats (wood), aluminium baseball bat, crowbar, wire for chocking, nailgun  , machette, .38 revolver and a tranquilizer sniper rifle. its not like those less realistic games where you smash someone in the head and there whole body explodes, in this one when you smash some one in the head (hard enough) there skull smashes into pieces and splats against a near by wall. if you sneak up on someone with the machette... well, i wont explain it but they end up minus 1 head that you can take with you and throw to distract or lure other enemys.
it reminds me alot of silent hill but without monsters and alot more realistic.
this game is for anyone that though GTA or postal 2 just wasnt enough.
ps. i refuse to play this game after 9pm ph34r

Nailgun huh? Sounds inticing.
Yeah I have heard elsewhere that this game had a "Silent Hill" type feeling to it, yet with no monsters, but hearing this from a fellow gamer confirms my confidence level.
Now tell me, is it set up in a level designed sort of gameplay like Silent Hill, or is it more like GTA where you just roam around and/or do various missions that progress through the game.

its compleatly linear witch kinda sucks but i dont think it would be as good if it was free roaming. being able to only do what the "director" tells you to do makes it more scary in a way. if it was free roaming like GTA i dont think it would be nearly as fun.

This thread may be a little old, but eh, that's okay.
I got around to picking this game up, and although it's pretty different from GTA, it's still a hell of a lot of fun. The executions are indeed quite violent and kinda sick, and it is chock full of naughty words, but it's all in good fun. I guess there's just something to killing Neo-Nazis and White Supremeists that just clicks for me.
But to the others that have played the game, (and have gotten somewhat far), I need you help. I'm stuck on the first save point of Border Patrol (18th level) and it is a bitch and a half. I run behind that shrub by the first save point, and then lure over the Cerebus hunters, and proceed to blow them away one by one as they run towards me behind the shrub. After that, I have figured that it's impossible to charge the front, so I go around to that weird looking courtyard that's opposite of the mansion, and at the far right side of the courtyard is the vine-covered staircase, which hosts a Cerebus hunter just standing there on guard. I kill him, but that proceeds to bring another group of hunters who enter the front of the courtyard, and since there is no really good strategic spots for me to duck behind, and I simply get blown away. It's not good times.
So being the lazy **** that I am, anyone care to help this poor bastard? If you can actually understand any of that^^^, then please do.

Very well done, funny, has alot of content, and has good style.
But i didn't think the graphics were that bad, i mean GTA:VC's graphics arent that great either, especially for a sequel.
