Hi,
Is there any one who has experience with this problem?

Is there a delay difference between an USB adslmodem and a network modem.
Do you notice an improvement of performance in gaming on either one??

I know that if you want more then one compu connected you need a networkrouter/modem.
Please????

I have one. I used USB first and now i ave an ethernet port so i use that. No big diffrerence, the ethernet is just mpre reliable.

I had problems playing Sam with the cable modem hooked up via USB.. :(

Once I installed it thru the Ethernet port, problem gone !! :happy:

I would think the NIC card would be the best way to go! :thumbs:

ethernet = 20 year old reliable technology, everything works with it,
usb = small bandwidth, unless 2.0, expansion problems down the road,
lots of driver issues at times...

also, if the right nic and modem that support 1GB speeds, I am pretty sure that USB isn't that fast, not that it would really make a difference if you only had a NIC running at 100MB.

Food for thought :)

Ha ha what a joke, they have us all wrapped around their finger. Those speeds only apply to a lan network not internet connection. (unless you have a fiber connection *cough*) I have to agree though nic is the way to go.

usb = max 11 mbps
usb = uses cpu cyles

nic = 10/100 mbps

use the nic card

Well with my high speed, I have a router after the modem, and yes I have a home network, there for my reason for the 1GB stuff. Still think NIC is better then USB.

Nic is the way to go :thumbs: Mr Bigg got it right. 12 mbit USB ver 10/100 Mbit NIC. 1 Gig is only good if you have all computers on your lan @ 1 Gig including your router. and a 1 Gigabit router will set you back about $500.00 + :bawling:

Oh I wasn't disagreeing with you, nic is definately the way to go. I was just stating that you really aren't running at 100Mb a sec unless like Fragetti pointed out the network you are on is all running at that speed along with the router or switch. :)
