Have any of you tried this program? It's free at Major Geeks.

It's supposed to adjust your TCP/IP settings for maximum performance.

I use Dr. TCP.

Dr. TCP (http://www.dslreports.com/front/drtcp.html)

Download it, restart your comp. Then take the tweak test and it will give you recommendations. You can apply these adjustments through Dr. TCP without having to mess with the registry. After each change you make you must restart your comp for change to take effect. Then take some speed tests to see results.
It's a little tedious but it works.
Now if Cable Nut does all this automatically then skip Dr. TCP.

I used it but never noticed a difference. My test at DSL Reports already showed me at the max.

:) Too late. I already installed cable nut. It did everything automatically, once I entered my OS info (windows 2000).
It bumped up my download, but my upload is lower. Here's the numbers from the day of my cable install:

Just ran a test on Cnet. I doubt this is correct:

 We're proud of you.. But wouldn't you rather have a faster upload, I mean how often do you download?
Here take this smile :)

You actually download more then you upload. Atleast surfing the net and so forth. Gaming, well you do both. You can have uber speeds uploading, but it still will come down to your ping and how far from the server you are. If you had 1.5Mb upload also, but your ping to a server was 200ms, you'd still be behind 200ms even though you have good upload speeds.

Download was quicker by about 200kb (1700 - 1900) after installing and running, so :WTF:
