I am unsure as to how to get my name flashing and all that with the serious editor

Can anyone help??

Sure, I can help you out.

There is a special program that we use to edit our name files, however, you can also simply type in the code where you would normally type your name in..

you can bypass the editor and at the same time use the editor

here are the basics (the little that I know) to making your name flash in ssam (no not that kind of flash ;) :rolleyes: )

the code
^f9 makes what comes after it flash very fast

the speed of flashing is determined by the nr you put behind the ^f

numbers ranging from 0 (disappear act) to 9 (fast flash)

so If you want your question mark to flash rapidly put
^f9?

Have you been able to download name editor? If so were you able to get it running? If you have Pick the serious sam tab. Then make sure the second encounter is showing in the box on the right. You should then be able to pick a player and start changing colors. Here is a sample code of one of my old tags

^cffffff=^c383872D^c5a5aadO^c7474baA^cffffff|^c979 7ccM^cc5c5e2H^cffffff=^c007777Go^c009b9bo^c00c6c6b e^c0fffffr

=DOA|MH= Goober with colors was what this string of codes resulted in.

the ^c followed by a combination of 6 letters and numbers defines the color of the next symble, number, letter. you will find a color chart in name editor that will help you with the codes. If you still have trouble, pm me with the name and colors you would like and I will fix something up for you.

the problem with flashing is that it often does not show up in screenshots.

but then a bunch of people use ? so it doesn't matter anyway.
