well, i was having this problem aswell as many other people who have the nforce2 boards. you may have updated your drivers to the latest and the noticed the problem.

why alll of a sudden?

if your system has installed the nvide ide drivers you may have this problem and also known to cause data corruption.

fix?

well it's pretty simple....

goto device manger
goto ide controllers
right click on the primary controller and goto properties
update driver and choose install from a specific location
then choose dont search i will choose driver to install
click next
now choose standard controller and then install
this should fix anyones problem (rivers) and is you still have a problem contact me.

Well bigg thanks a million cause it fixed the shutting down problem. But I got this weird problem, not just now, but it happend like 2 day ago or so and I was hoping the drivers were the problem but their not. For some reason eBay loads VERY SLOW on my computer. I booted up the taskmanager and iexplorer is taking up like 50-60 in resources and takes up all my CPU ussage. I scanned for viruses but found nothing. This problem is really annoying. I sure hope I don't have to reinstall windows or anything along those lines
