Yes the wait is finally over. I got my butt to do it. :)

I have assembled some very SWEET Serious Sam SE custom levels for us all to start enjoying.

Thanks for everyone for the list of ideas. As you will see I incorporated only the best of the levels submitted. All of these levels offer a new level of playing, some with some incredible new graphics to say the least.

Here is the list of the maps that are on the Custom Map Server:

:: Big Trouble
:: Gregory's Groove Shack
:: Mayan Mayhem
:: Lost Sense
:: Outlaws Battle Arena (like they need an arena, they stink :wink:)
:: Refinery (for all you UT warriors, you will like this)
:: House of Seeing (unbelievable map)

Later tonight Salvation will be updated the website with all the links to these maps. Until then, if you have these maps go in and play. We will post the links asap.

One thing should be pointed out, and maybe Shogun can verifiy that I know what I'm talking about. :roll:

If you are not positive that you have these maps and they work properly on your system, do not try to join the custom map server. You will "jam" a player slot on the server and not only will you not be able to play, but the slot will stayed jammed, and you will effectively decrease the number of player slots by one each time you try.

I'm sure that DL will have very little tolerance for this, and will most likely start banning people who abuse the server in this fashion. Just a guess though. :wink:

No, Look for a file called DM_BigTrouble.wld in that same folder, There should be another called DM_BigTrouble.tbn in that same folder also.

That's what Sirc is talking about. People are trying to join the server that don't have the maps. :( I was afraid this would happen. Give it some time for the word to get around about the maps and it will get better.

Ha that would be funny. How in the world would he ban people. Do you know what kind of a pain in the ass that would be? I mean it is a public server, so everyone can see it. There are still a bunch of new people that play the game who may try to join, not even looking at the map that the server is on. This issue was brought up a while back, when Dan and Ra/en had the idea to start a server for customs in Round Table. Why are we surprised at the result?

Yea. I am removing Mayan Mayhem. I love the level but it is just too darn slow. I will replace it with another soon.

BTW great game today.. same to you Halo and Dangerous Dan. It was a blast for sure!

Lost Sense is really cool, I haven't tried Refinery yet.

I was playing Little Trouble awhile ago and someone (I'm sorry I don't remember your name) said a few of the links didn't work for them. I just re-checked them and if you use the eDome links they all work. :wink:

That's too easy. It has to be a random mix of numbers and letters at least 29 characters long. Kind of like my damn water bill account number. Those idiots tell you to list the account number on the check, but the chances of me actually getting it correct are about 1 in 10 on a good day. In fact it's so long that it runs into my signature, so I have to curve it down underneath the signature line to get it all on there.

Dark, don't check the two boxes- "enumerate" and "send heartbeat to gamespy". Only post the ip and port here in this thread along with the map list. Players can still add your server to their "favorites" in the ASE. That should help keep the crashes down.

Sounds good. I will watch it tonight .. if it crashes more.. than I am gonna just post the IP here. This is crazy. I dont think people know that you must download the map first to play. Oh well.

Guys let me see if I can explaint to the ones that are the getting the Server Full messages why it's happening.

When someone in SE tries to connect to a server that is running a map that the player doesn't have, It doesn't work right and that players IP will hang and take up a player position even though they aren't in the game. That's what produces the Server Full message when say only 3 of 8 players are actually in the game. Most games when they work right will tell you that you don't have the map or either auto-download the map. SS doesn't have auto-download. :( SS FE v1.05 & SS SE v1.05 works great. But when you apply the friggin' v1.07 patch to SE it stops working right.

Until we get that "mythical band-aid" from Croteam, We are either gonna have to either post the IP of the server (Like Slash posted) or either use a password. IMO the IP route would be easier than having everyone edit the Game_startup.ini file.

I think I will also knock the frags down to 20. The game takes awhile cause some of the levels are quite big.

Anyway, it seems that some of you do like Mayan Mayhem, which is kinda weird, because I don't like that map at all. :| It was my first serious map, and therefore is very poorly optimized and runs like hell. I could, however, redo it, if I got enough motivation.

So, what do you say?

yeah, that would be sweet Haba :). Lately i've been looking around for DM maps, but i keep finding one reoccuring problem, a lot of them are hard to play because of the location and abundance of weapons. For example, the "showdown" map has a sweet layout, but all the weapons are in the far corners of the level, making it hard to get a decent weapon once you respawn :(.

thanks you put "big trouble" on your server :), but if you download it from there you have the old version, i think the server hosts the old, too.

in the latest version were some performance bugs. which are almost eliminated.
