DOOM III LEAKED!!!!

Doom III was leaked, it seems just the E3 demo, but get this,,,,, it is only kicking 12 FPS on a radeon 8500, I will not be buying a $300.00 :shock: card to play this game, anyway heres the leak story:

Carmack said he wants to get it out before the next in E3 (which is in, uh, May?) but we'll see. And yeah from what I've heard this demo is pretty brutal to run, but its far from a finished product so it will probably be a lot more optimized when it finally comes out.

I looked somewhere and fread that some people are getting 40fps and some are getting even more ..

One guy got 20-40 on average by editing these

seta com_maxfps "0" set to "user desired"
seta r_useStandardGL "0" set to "1"
seta r_shadows "1" set to "0"
seta r_colorbits "32" set to "16"
eta r_ext_compress_textures "0" set to "1"

I think its in config.cfg or doomconfig.cfg .. I forget .. lol

Well some are saying he is only pretending to be pissed. That he actually wanted the leak for various reasons.

I really don't think id is the kind of company to "accidentally" leak something just for publicity. Everybody in gaming has their eyes on id anyway, they don't need to generate hype like this. Carmack is probably pissed because idiots will make judgements on the final game based on this early alpha that won't preform anything like the commercial release.

Duh but he even said himself that the game was made to utilize stuff even on the Geforce1. Btw I'm impressed you actually didnt use commas to replace periods.

utilize,,,,,,??? slik,,,,,,,, I guess I will have to explain what he means by that............ the game will "utilize" all the technologys to date, from 3DFX to openGL, BI and TRI mappings,,,,,,,,, but do not forget he (carmack) has said already that the games coming from ID will have shading, none of the cards out except the radeon 9700 can run the games the way they are supposed to look, yes you can turn off stuff to make it work, but you not be seeing the way it is supposed to look.
