ummm, please check the refresh rate properties on your monitor.
that is the number of times it redraws the picture, too low
and you get headaches, etc.
right click on desktop, properties, settings, advanced
you want it to be at 75 or 85 hertz, the highest your monitor can support
if that doesn't help, then you will want to look at an lcd monitor,
the images are rock steady and do not have to be redrawn,
so they do not irritate the eyes.

This is the one that I have: newegg linky (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?DEPA=1&sumit=Go&description=N82E16824006025&searchdepa=1)

Actually went up in price since I bought it. I'd do what Jim said. I have my refresh rate at 100Hz, and I don't have any probs at all. Now I go to work, and the monitors there bug the crap out of me.

I would suggest you to take a LCD. I have Samsung LCD and it very good for the eyes. I had vefore the LCD a crappy screen I set it on high res, and I had alot of headaches and my eyes hurt, after I bought the LCD things got really better.

personally i use 1600X1200 in an analog monitor, but i guess that
would be hard to find not to mention expensive in a lcd... so anyways,
if you currently use 1280X1024, then go for it. i know nothing about
prices though...

Good screen, I think you can count on NEC.
