I ran a test on my computer and it said that my cpu fan is not working or spinning too slowly...i will post the results here in a sec helpp me biggggg

post your syatem specs and what utility you are using so the "Big brains" can digest all the info needed ;)

utility is sisoftware sandra 2004
specs are
P4 2.4 ghz processor
geforce 4 fx5200 graphics card
memory is 256 333ddr

Go in your bios and check your cpu temp and fan speed
try using MB5 monitor I will try to fine the link for ya it's free :wave:

under bios it says the fan is working at 2394 rpm
in the program i got it says it is working at 842 rpm
what gives

BIOS should be more accurate, touch it with ur hand and find out.

ummm frag that only lets me set up alarms for when it decides to crash....dosent let me fix it....ty though

pause---take a deep breath and relax----sandra is not alway accurate and actually should not be taken serious.
in yourr bios, it should tell you what the temp and the rpm speed of the fan/cpu. this will be most accurate. also make a note that some p4 motherboards use a fan control for the p4 chip. you can disable this sometimes in the bios. what maybe happening is the cpu fan is slowing down becuase it's not getting that hot. in this case you would actually hear the fan louder at times.
i would strictly go by what the bios says and not look at sandra for this.

thats what i was thinking bigg. thanks alot i can get off the computer finally lol been on all day trying to figure this out....ty....ty...ty did i mention my eyes hurt lol

As I and Mr Bigg mentioned the bios is your best bet. MB5 if setup properly will
also read the sensors on your mortherboard and you can use the dashboard to monitor your rig. plug the cpu fan into fan hearder 2 and plug a fan of know rpm
into fan 1 and see if that also runs slow. Note the fan must have three wires
red + black - yellow rpm. :thumbs:
