strange things happening

i have 256kb/s slow dsl connection. All time i downloaded with 30Kb/s
tonight my download speed was 236Kb/s All movies i watched loaded so fast. 8 MB movie downloaded in 5-7 seconds :WTF:

I think T3 can go up to 33MBs&#33;

ummmm, a t1 is 1.5 Mb/s, a t3 is some 35 Mb/s
adsl usually @ 1.5 Mb/s, cable @ 2-3 Mb/s
slower lans will be 10 Mb/s, faster @ 100 Mb/s, fastest @ 1000 Mb/s

note that it doesn&#39;t mean a t1 sucks, as t1 is guaranteed bandwidth,
and is the same speed up and down where as dsl is usually 1.5/384 or 1.5/128

thanks for info. Can you explain why i have 256Kb/s DSL, but download rate is 30 - 36 Kb/s thats not fair&#33;

are you saying that dialup is faster than your dsl?
with dialup you can get up to 56kb/s, althought the 40s are more likely
now downloads will list in KB which = bytes, kb = bits
so *8 to go from KB to Kb, @ 36 KB = 288 Kb
if you are accurate though and only getting 36 Kb, then it
is time for a new isp... but that may not be possible... :(
